Capryloyl Glycine

Capryloyl Glycine

Amino-acid cleansing agent that helps control the skin's natural oil; rare contact sensitization possible in atopic skin

What it does

Capryloyl glycine is an N-acyl amino acid derived from glycine and caprylic acid. It functions as a mild surfactant, sebum-regulating agent, and antimicrobial (preservative booster) in formulations targeting oily and acne-prone skin. It is generally very well tolerated. A documented case of allergic contact dermatitis from capryloyl glycine has been reported in an atopic dermatitis patient, indicating rare sensitization potential in eczema-prone individuals. For the vast majority of users, including those with sensitive skin, capryloyl glycine is a gentle and beneficial ingredient.
