Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer
A synthetic thickener and emulsion stabilizer from the carbomer family — it gives gels and creams their body and keeps oil and water from separating.
What it does
This crosspolymer swells in water to thicken a formula and stabilize emulsions, so a cream stays uniform and a gel holds its shape. It is used at low levels purely for texture and stability and stays on the skin's surface. It does nothing to the skin itself; its job is making the product feel and behave the way it should.

carbomer-type thickener
