Phototoxic essential oil — sun exposure on treated skin can cause delayed burns and pigmentation.
What it does
Cold-pressed peel oil of the bitter-orange tree, with the same furocoumarin-driven phototoxicity profile as bergamot and lime. Distinct from sweet-orange-peel oil, which is much lower in furocoumarins.

The reaction can resemble a severe sunburn or pigmented chemical burn (berloque dermatitis).
