C12-13 Alkyl Lactate

C12-13 Alkyl LactateBarrier

An ester that softens skin. Not an exfoliating acid.

What it does

C12–13 alkyl lactate is an ester of lactic acid and fatty alcohols. As an ingredient it softens the skin; it is not an exfoliating acid, because the lactic acid is bound into the ester. Drop has read no study of it on skin; it is listed for the job it does in the formula.
