C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside
C12-20 Alkyl GlucosideBarrier
A sugar-derived nonionic emulsifier used to blend oil and water in gentle creams and lotions.
What it does
C12–20 Alkyl Glucoside is made from plant sugars joined to fatty alcohols. The sugar part is water-loving and the fatty part is oil-loving, so it emulsifies oil and water and is valued as a mild, plant-derived emulsifier, often with cetearyl alcohol. It is a formulation ingredient rather than a skin active.
