C20-22 Alcohols
Waxy fatty alcohols, not the drying kind, that thicken creams and keep them stable.
What it does
The name means a mix of fatty alcohols 20 to 22 carbons long, mainly arachidyl and behenyl alcohol. They help keep oil and water blended and give creams their body.
The EU’s ingredient database lists it as a thickener (controls how thick the product is), a stabilizer (helps oil and water stay mixed) and a binder (holds the product together).European Commission, CosIng (© European Union, CC BY 4.0) · uses put in plain words by Drop ↗
