What it does
Ceteareth-20 is an ethoxylated fatty-alcohol emulsifier. It lowers the tension between oil and water so the two stay mixed into a smooth, stable emulsion, and it can also help solubilize small amounts of oily ingredients into water-based products. It is a very common structural ingredient in moisturizers and creams and does not act on the skin itself.
