Feverfew Extract
Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract · Tanacetum Parthenium Extract · Tanacetum Parthenium (Feverfew) ExtractSoothing
A plant extract used in calming formulas, typically supplied in a parthenolide-removed form so the soothing parts come through without the irritating part.
What it does
Feverfew is a flowering plant whose extract contains a mix of phenolics and sesquiterpene lactones. In skincare it is almost always supplied with the parthenolide compound stripped out, because parthenolide can itself be a contact sensitizer. The remaining extract is rich in flavonoids and is included for its calming and antioxidant profile, often alongside other soothing botanicals in barrier-supporting moisturizers and post-procedure formulas.
Also known as
parthenolide-free feverfew, tanacetum parthenium extract
