Glyceryl Polyacrylate
Glyceryl Polyacrylate
A film former that leaves a light, smooth layer on skin.
What it does
It’s a polymer made from glycerin and acrylic acid that holds water well. As a product dries it leaves a thin, flexible layer behind and adds slip to gel textures.
The evidence, graded
expert consensusUS safety reviewers (2022) assessed four glyceryl acrylates. They list glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer as one that conditions skin and thickens water-based products, and glyceryl polyacrylate and glyceryl polymethacrylate as film formers. They judged all four safe as used.Johnson 2022 · Cosmetic Ingredient Review ↗
