Holy Basil Extract

Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract · Ocimum Sanctum ExtractAntioxidant

A holy basil (tulsi) leaf extract rich in eugenol and rosmarinic acid — a plant antioxidant distinct from sweet basil.

What it does

Holy basil (Ocimum sanctum, also marketed as tulsi) is a different species from sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum). Its leaf extract is rich in eugenol, rosmarinic acid, and ursolic acid — phenolic compounds that contribute antioxidant activity at the skin surface. In skincare it is included as a supporting plant antioxidant, frequently alongside other Ayurvedic botanicals.
