Hydrogenated polydecene is a synthetic emollient made by linking and then saturating small hydrocarbon units. It is a clear, odorless, oxidation-resistant oil that delivers a light, silky, non-greasy slip and helps other ingredients spread evenly. Because it is chemically stable it is a common replacement for mineral oil and for some silicones. It is a feel-and-spreadability ingredient rather than an active.
