Phenyl Trimethicone
Phenyl TrimethiconeBarrier
Modified silicone with a phenyl group. Adds shine and slip; common in hair and brow products.
What it does
Phenyl trimethicone is a silicone modified with phenyl groups that give it a higher refractive index — meaning it adds more visible shine than plain dimethicone. Common in hair-finishing serums, brow gels, and the occasional lip product. As a face-product ingredient it's a slip-and-shine modifier rather than a primary emollient.
