Polyethylene
Polyethylene
A synthetic polymer used to thicken and structure formulas and, as fine beads, to add smooth slip.
What it does
Polyethylene is a synthetic wax-like polymer. It thickens and gives body to balms and sticks, helps stabilize formulas, and as fine beads can add a smooth, gliding feel. It is a structuring and texture ingredient rather than an active. Note: micro-bead forms have been phased out of rinse-off products in many markets.
This page is public and indexed on purpose (unlike profiles and drops, which are unlisted) — it’s the citation behind shared ingredient cards, and it should be findable.
