Sodium Chloride
Sodium Chloride
Ordinary salt, used in small amounts to thicken certain cleansers and stabilize formulas — not an active ingredient.
What it does
Sodium chloride is table salt. In cleansers built on certain surfactants, adding a little salt thickens the formula to a pleasant consistency; in other products it helps stabilize the mix. It is present in small amounts for texture and is one of the most benign things on an ingredient list. There is no skincare claim attached to it.
