Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate
Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate
A readily biodegradable chelator derived from an amino acid, used as a greener alternative to EDTA for stabilizing formulas.
What it does
Tetrasodium glutamate diacetate is a chelating agent made from the amino acid glutamic acid. Like EDTA it binds stray metal ions that would otherwise destabilize a formula, cause discoloration, or undermine preservatives. Brands often choose it because it is readily biodegradable, making it a more eco-friendly option for the same job. It works inside the formula at low levels and is not a skin active.
