What it does
Trihydroxystearin is a hydrogenated castor-oil derivative. It thickens and gels the oil phase, helps suspend pigments, and keeps oily formulas from separating, so it is used as an oil-phase structuring agent in balms and color products. It is a texture-and-structure ingredient rather than a skin active.
