Trimethylsiloxysilicate

TrimethylsiloxysilicateBarrier

A silicone resin used to form a water-resistant film for long-wear and transfer-resistant finishes.

What it does

Trimethylsiloxysilicate is a branched silicone resin. As volatile carrier silicones evaporate it leaves behind a thin, water-resistant film that helps a product stay put and resist rub-off, so it is common in long-wear color and sunscreen. It is a film-and-wear ingredient rather than a skin active.
