Carnauba Wax

Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax · Copernicia Cerifera Cera · Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax / Copernicia Cerifera Cera / Cire De Carnauba · Copernicia Cerifera WaxBarrier

Brazilian palm-leaf wax. The hardest of the cosmetic waxes; common in mascaras and stick balms.

What it does

Carnauba wax is the structural workhorse in stick formulations that need to hold firm shape — mascaras, lipsticks, deodorant sticks. It's also the highest-melting-point natural wax in cosmetic use. In skincare specifically, it's used in balms that need to stay solid in warm climates without softening.

Also known as

cire de carnauba
