What it does
Rice bran extract carries gamma-oryzanol (a sterol-bearing antioxidant) and tocotrienols (vitamin E family). It's a light, non-greasy oil-soluble ingredient often used as a supportive antioxidant in serums and moisturizers. The marketing claims around UV-protection from gamma-oryzanol are stronger than the topical evidence supports — useful as a backup antioxidant, not as a sunscreen replacement.
