Avocado Oil
Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil · Persea Gratissima Oil · Persea GratissimaBarrier
Rich oleic-dominant oil. Good for very dry skin; not the right fit for fungal-acne-prone skin.
What it does
Avocado oil is heavy and oleic-dominant (~60%), with vitamin E, sterols, and a pleasant skin feel. Suits very dry skin and is a common balm-formula component. Slow-absorbing. The oleic dominance makes it less suitable for acne-prone or fungal-acne-prone skin — the same reason that applies to olive oil, marula, and other oleic-heavy oils.
The evidence, graded
expert consensusFungal acne (Malassezia folliculitis) is fed by fatty acids and esters with C11-C24 chain lengths. Many oils marketed as 'safe for acne-prone skin' make fungal acne worse.
