Grapeseed Oil
Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil · Vitis Vinifera Seed OilBarrier
Lightweight linoleic-acid-rich oil. Absorbs quickly; suitable for combination and oily skin.
What it does
Grapeseed oil is light, mostly linoleic (~70%), and one of the more skin-friendly oil picks for oily and combination skin. It contains polyphenols and a small amount of vitamin E. Good as a face-massage carrier, oil-cleanse phase, or a serum oil layer. Easily oxidized; store away from heat.
The evidence, graded
emergingThe skin's barrier is built from ceramides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids in a roughly 1:1:1 to 3:1:1 ratio. Moisturizers formulated to mimic that ratio support barrier repair more than any one lipid alone.Man 1996 · Journal of Investigative Dermatology ↗
